‘Avengers 2’ Poster: Hawkeye Gets His Own Character Banner
The latest Avengers 2 poster has hit the web, and everyone’s favorite marksman — Hawkeye — is up next. Jeremy Renner shared the image today, and while he said nothing specific about it, we have one big theory about what it means for Clint Barton in Age of Ultron.
First up, let's take a look at Hawkeye's Avengers 2 poster before we start discussing:
Now, this is just baseless speculation, but if you look at all the the rest of the Avengers 2 character posters below, they all seem to be taking place during the same sequence; in some fiery cityscape with crashed cars and smoky buildings behind them. Except Hawkeye, who seems to be fighting a different battle, in the snowy wilderness, which we've all assumed is the opening sequence of the film, when The Avengers raid Baron von Strucker's compound. If the rest of the Avengers are pictured in their posters during the film's finale, and Hawkeye is picture during the film's opening sequence, does that mean that perhaps...Hawkeye doesn't make it to the finale?
We have no knowledge of Hawkeye's death in this film, but director Joss Whedon is on record as saying, “The Avengers must die” and when we put odds on who might die in Avengers 2, we had Hawkeye as the odds-on favorite to bite the big one. Just something to think about as we prepare for Age of Ultron.
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Check back tomorrow for the Captain America Avengers 2 poster. Avengers 2 opens in theaters on May 1.
