The Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education on Monday night approved the promotion of Amanda Jackson to principal at Washington Elementary School, effective July 1.

Jackson, currently the assistant principal at Heber Hunt Elementary, started in the district as an elementary teacher in 2006, moving to elementary counselor in 2011. She was Heber Hunt’s instructional coach for the 2022-23 school year before moving into her role as assistant principal this school year.

Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Central Missouri in 2005. She holds a counseling degree from Stephens College (2014) and an education specialist degree from William Woods University (2019), along with K-8 certifications as a teacher, counselor and principal.
