A Few Changes as Smith-Cotton Kicks Off Another Football Season
Another season and a new head coach begins Friday evening, August 18 at Tigers Stadium as Smith-Cotton hosts Moberly.
After being the defensive coordinator last year, Coach Charlie McFail begins his role as head coach of the 2017 Smith-Cotton Tigers football team. Ryan Boyer stepped down after last season to accept the Athletic Director and Head Coaching job at Warsaw.
Another change is taking place off the field for this year’s schedule. After 20 years in the broadcast booth, Al McCurdy has retired as the voice of Tigers football. Taking over the play-by-play duties for the new season will be Beau Matthews.
Games, both home and away through out the season, will be heard on 92.3 BOB-FM.
The Smith-Cotton/Moberly game will begin with the pre-game at 6:40 and the kick-off at 7:00 p.m.
