The date for the 6th Annual Devon's Beat 5K Run/Walk along with other fundraising activities has been set for Saturday, April 7.

Coming off a very successful 2017 event, the 6th year of the Devon's eat 5K Run/Walk returns to Lincoln, Missouri.

On Saturday, April 7, a free will donation breakfast fundraiser will kick things off from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Foster Hall at First Baptist Church in Lincoln.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. for the 5K run/walk in Foster Hall at First Baptist Church. At 9:00 a.m. the 5K begins with a 100 yard dash scheduled at 10:00 a.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Registraton fee is $25.00 (Includes T-Shirt) before March 21. Registration after March 21 until the day of the event is $30.00.

The 4th annual silent & live auctions and dance will take place at the VFW Post 5925 in Lincoln from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The featured band for the dance will be Forever Young. The cost is Singles-$8.00, Couples-$15.00, Kids-$4.00 and Families-$20.00.

Proceeds will benefit the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrom (SADS) Foundations and Heart Screenings.

The 5th year event raised over $11,000 and screened 72 kids, making the new total of 361 kids screened.

Each year approximately 4,000 children and young people die suddenly and unexpectedly due to cardiac arrhythmias.

Devon's Beat is hosting a screening event for March 17 at Smithton High School.
