2018 Winter Events Guide for Sedalia, Missouri
Some really fun annual events take place right at the start of the year. Events ranging from pro bull riding and rodeo to live theater are scheduled in January and February around the Sedalia area.
State Fair Spirit Classic
The State Fair Spirit Classic Cheer and Dance Competition is January 13 at the Matthewson Exhibition Center. The event will include competitors from Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas.
Bodee's Racers Auction and Trade Show

Cabin Fever Sports Show
The Angler’s Port Marine Cabin Fever Sports Show will take place at the Mathewson Exhibition Center and Lowell Mohler Hall on February 10, 2018. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Daum Museum of Contemporary Art
Two exhibits, Contingent Structures: Recent Ceramics by Brandon Reese and Clay Culture: Voulkos, Kaneko, Reitz, and Leedy, will be on display at the Daum Museum January 27 - May 27. Admission to the Daum Museum is free. Hours are Tuesday - Friday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday - Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays.
NFPB Bullriding and Pro Rodeo
The National Federation of Professional Bullriders will be bringing bull riding and pro rodeo to the Matthewson Exhibition Center on Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17.
JROTC Drill Meet
The Smith-Cotton JROTC Drill Meet is February 17 at Smith-Cotton High School. It will include JROTC cadets from four states. Events include Unarmed Regulation and Exhibition, Armed Regulation and Exhibition, Color Guard. JROTC will also host a silent auction.
Hayden Liberty Center Association for the Arts
The Hayden Liberty Center Association for the Arts winter schedule includes: Jan. 18: Wally McCown Art Show Opening Reception; Jan. 30: Silent film Safety Last, comedy film by Harold Lloyd with live accompaniment by Richard Dowling; Feb. 17: KICK Comedy Show featuring KC Improv Group.
'The Actress' at SFCC
State Fair Community College presents The Actress February 21-25 at the Stauffacher Theatre. "The Actress, a funny and poignant new comedy, takes place backstage as a colorful, complicated actress makes her emotional farewell performance." Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. on February 7.
