Willie Nelson Set to Headline 2012 Farm Aid Music Festival
Willie Nelson, along with rockers Dave Matthews, Neil Young and John Mellencamp, will headline and host this year’s annual Farm Aid Music Festival, which will take place at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Penn. on Sept. 22.
Joining the headlining acts are Tim Reynolds, Jack Johnson, ALO, Pegi Young and the Survivors, Willie’s son Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
Established by Nelson, Young and Mellencamp nearly 25 years ago, Farm Aid has raised more than $40 million for American farmers in danger of losing their farms through mortgage debt. The home for the 2012 Farm Aid event was chosen strategically, given that Pennsylvania ranks third nationally in direct farmer-to-consumer sales, according to Farm Aid, and sixth nationwide with some 600 organic farms. The land in south-central region of the state — where Hershey is located — houses large areas of highly fertile farmlands. Agriculture is the state’s leading industry.
Tickets for the country’s longest-running benefit concert are on sale now. 2012 Farm Aid Music Festival ticket prices range from $37.75 to $101.75, including fees. Click here for more information.
