Sedalia Police arrested a 17-year-old on multiple charges, including stealing a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child, after speeding away from officers on January 23.

A report from the Sedalia Police Department says that a stolen vehicle was located by officers driving west on 32nd from Grand Avenue. Police attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The suspect eventually bailed out of the vehicle at 28th and Jerome and fled on foot. Police eventually caught up with the suspect and arrested 17-year-old Gunner A. Saulbeamer of Sedalia. Two occupants of the vehicle were juveniles and were released to their parents.

Saulbeamer was placed an a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail for stealing a motor vehicle, resisting felony arrest and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police continue to investigate the incident.
