Zac Brown Band got their Super Bowl weekend off to a crazy start in Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday (Jan. 31), when they appeared onstage as part of a Pandora Live event with none other than Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl to perform the Metallica classic "Enter Sandman."

Showing off not only their head-banging skills but their insane music skills, the members of Zac Brown Band seemed to love getting the chance to let go musically, with the band’s fiddle player Jimmy DeMartini truly getting into it.

The band was in town for the big game, but they say they won't be making a cameo during the halftime show.

"I wish that was true [that we'd be performing]," Brown tells CNN about the big game's halftime show, which will include performances by Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi. "It was between us and another band, and they choose the other band. But that's okay, whatever it is."

"Enter Sandman" may find its way into ZBB's setlists at other shows this year; the band has been performing the early '90s Metallica hit for years now, in addition to a number of other covers. The group just announced a new slate of summertime tour dates, dubbed the Owl Tour, which will begin in late May.

Zac Brown Band will spend their spring, meanwhile, on the road for their Down the Rabbit Hole Live Tour. They're also working on new music, having recently released a new single called "Someone I Used to Know," co-written by Shawn Mendes.
