Free Agency...isn't that the mechanism designed to either keep players with their current teams or to see them go to other clubs depending on the highest bidder?

Well, in Kansas City, keeping players on the roster has taken a new twist.  A Royals fan by the name of John Karpinski, has set up a GoFundMe page. Now this isn't just any money raising effort.  Karpinski has set up the page to keep both Ben Zobrist and Alex Gordon from heading elsewhere in the Major Leagues.

According to Yardbarker.com, a page has been set up to try and keep the two players in the second smallest market in Major League Baseball. The goals is to raise one million dollars to keep the two players in KC. If the total is raised, the players get to keep the money or, as Karpinski hopes, donate it to charity.

So if you feel the need to donate to keep Gordon and Zobrist in KC, go to the GoFundMe page.
