The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will return to Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia for the first time since 2012 on Friday, May 5, 2017.

The event will mark the 24th A-Feature event contested by the series at the historic half-mile, dating back to the series inaugural 1978 season. A total of 13 drivers have picked up A-Feature wins with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at the track during that span.

In the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series last visit to Missouri State Fair Speedway in 2012, three-time series champion Sammy Swindell was victorious, taking the lead from Cody Darrah on lap-15 of the 25-lap event.

Donny Schatz leads all active drivers with a pair of wins at Missouri State Fair Speedway. He was victorious for the first time at Sedalia in 2003 and returned to victory lane at the track in 2008. Jason Sides and Paul McMahan also have won World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series races at the half-mile. The win for McMahan was his first-career triumph with the series, back in 2001.

The 2016 campaign was a historic one for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series as Schatz won his third straight championship and eighth overall. In the process, the North Dakota native became the first driver in series history to win 20-plus A-Feature events in four consecutive seasons, finishing the year with 25 A-Feature triumphs.

Schatz continues to add to his ever-growing win total with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, which now stands at 229 A-Feature victories. Schatz is third on the all-time list, trailing only Hall of Famers Steve Kinser and Sammy Swindell.

A total of 17 drivers won A-Feature events with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series in 2016, including full-time series drivers: Daryn Pittman, who finished second in points, David Gravel, who was third in the standings, Brad Sweet, who was fourth in points, Joey Saldana, who was fifth in the final tally, Shane Stewart, who was just behind Saldana, along with Jason Johnson, who was seventh in points, Logan Schuchart, who was eighth in the standings, Jason Sides, who was ninth and reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner Greg Wilson.
