My wife and I are just moved to Sedalia this last summer, and we'll be spending our first Christmas in Sedalia this year. We're having family visiting for the holiday, and we're looking forward to spending time with them, but I was hoping we could take them out on Christmas Day and actually do something, rather than just bum around the house all day.

Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out and visiting with family, but sitting around and not doing anything on Christmas day has always seemed a little boring to me.  When I was a kid, my family would pick a movie to see on Christmas day after we ate our Christmas meal.  Other times we'd attend a Christmas themed event.  Either way, we'd do something to get out of the house a little bit and enjoy the holiday atmosphere.

Like I said, I'm new here, so I'm asking for a little help from you locals.  What can I do with my family on Christmas day in Sedalia?  What businesses are open?  Are there any fun events happening?
