Elvis Presley died nearly 40 years ago, and every day since, fans have been wondering what could have been. How much more great music would he have made? How many more movies would he have starred in? And what would Elvis look like today if he didn't die on Aug. 16, 1977?

Sachs Media in Florida hired a Phojoe to render images of what famous people would look like today. Phojoe creates artificially aged photos for missing persons reports, but they used the same technology to see legends like Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and Elvis Presley today.

Sachs CEO Ron Sachs says the work is a tribute. “Through this series of images, we hope to honor them and evoke some of the magic they brought to millions of their fans,” he explained in a statement (quote via Ultimate Classic Rock). “Even as we ponder what wonderful new contributions they still could have made.”

At the Rock & Roll Heaven gallery at the Sachs Media website, writers speculate what Presley would have done over the last 40 years had he not died. The photo recreation gives him a sandy gray head of hair and the appropriate amount of wrinkles for a man of his age. Those piercing blue eyes haven't dimmed a bit, however.

While a photo can't speak, one assumes Elvis would still be able to melt hearts in 2017. He'd be celebrating his 82nd birthday this year.
