Weird Traditions During the Holidays

I heard of a husband and wife that are spending Christmas with his family for the first time since they got married.  The couple has been married for two years.

He warned her that his mom does something slightly trashy:  She freezes the Thanksgiving leftovers, and they eat them at Christmas.

The husband's parents don't have a lot of money, so they do what they can to make the holidays work.  Their family never had Thanksgiving leftovers.

What slightly unusual thing does your family do at the holidays?  Have you adopted the tradition?
