From Pettis County Emergency Management Agency Director Dave Clippert, Pettis County is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 2:00 PM.

This may be considered round 1 of our severe potential over the next 16 or so hours. Currently the storms are located north west of Pettis with a couple of smaller storms, non-severe at the moment to our west. If we do see storm activity out of this round it will be a high wind (70 MPH is possible), large hail event (up to 2 inch is possible).

The 26 April 16 graphic shows what is expected throughout the rest of the day/evening. The tornado threat is expected to stay west of the Kansas /Missouri. Our main concern if we get additional storms will be high winds and large hail. The storms later today will form over Kansas and spread eastward through the evening. They are expected to weaken as they move east. Today is a good day to keep your eye on the sky and be prepared for severe weather!
