(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) – The Warrensburg R-6 School District’s information technology director was charged Tuesday (June 24) with molesting a young girl, according to court records.

Darron J. Chapman faces a charge of first-degree statutory rape and four counts of first-degree statutory sodomy. He is accused of molesting a girl during a period of time between Oct. 17, 2008 and June 20, 2014, according to a probable cause statement. The girl is now 10 years old.

The girl reported that the incidents occurred at Chapman’s Warrensburg residence. Court records list Chapman’s birth year as 1977. He admitted to some of these instances listed in the charges to “various individuals,” according to the probable cause statement.

No hearings have been set in the case and Chapman does not yet have a lawyer listed, according to online court records. He is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.

The charges are punishable by 10 years to life in prison as the victim was younger than 12 years old.
