Two men from Illinois have been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a Sedalia resident.

Early Sunday morning (Apr 15), Sedalia Police spoke with witness about a shooting that occurred at 314 N. Summit, where two victims were taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. One of the victims, 42-year old Maurice Harper Sr., was later pronounced deceased.

Sedalia Police have also identified another subject involved in the shooting, 30-year old Antonio Harper, of Broadway, IL. Antonio was reportedly injured during the time of the shooting and fled Sedalia. Detectives received information that Antonio was in the area of Warrenton, MO.

Coordination was made with the Warren County Sheriff's Dept. and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Antonio Harper was located at a gas station in Warrenton and taken into custody, then transported to a hospital for treatment.

Another subject was also arrested in Sedalia on Sunday morning, identified as 25-year old Eric Harper, of Chicago, IL. He is currently in custody at the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $250,000.

Charges of 2nd Degree Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon are being sought for Antonio Harper.

Authorities are seeking charges for Eric Harper of 1st Degree Assault, 1st Degree Robbery, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The Sedalia Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information concerning the death of Maurice Harper Sr. is urged to contact local law enforcement at 827-7823, ext. 1247.
