The University of Central Missouri invites the campus and local community to attend the annual Pre-Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20 on the east side lawn of the Alumni Memorial Chapel.

The Missouri Army National Guard also will present colors during the event. The Columbia Vet Center also will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 20 to provide veterans with health care information and assist them with signing up for VA benefits. Its mobile unit will be parked near the Elliott Student Union mall, outside the Military and Veterans Success Center on the north side of the building. Additionally, representatives from the Kansas City VA Medical Center will be available from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to provide health care information.

The Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies at the University of Central Missouri will formally dedicate the Donn G. Forbes Center for Financial Services with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, in Ward Edwards 1604. The public is invited to attend.

The center, made possible through generosity of UCM alumnus Donn G. Forbes, will become the dedicated home of Student Investment Fund, a student investment group. Formed in the fall of 2013, the team of undergraduate and graduate students enrolled for course credit gain realistic experience by performing detailed investment analyses and investing funding allocated by the UCM Foundation. Funds generated through investment generate additional dollars for UCM Foundation scholarships.
