An annual celebration that is taking on a new look to accommodate growth in graduate numbers, the University of Central Missouri will conduct its 2015 Spring Commencement exercises the weekend of May 8-9 by increasing the number of ceremonies from three to five. Nearly 1,800 students have met graduation requirements for spring semester, and are eligible to participate in events in the Multipurpose Building.

Commencement is being expanded this spring to more appropriately honor graduates, and to provide the best hospitality possible for their families and friends in attendance. Although no announcement has been made regarding the Fall 2015 Commencement schedule, graduation festivities this week feature two ceremonies on Friday,May 8 and three on Saturday, May 9. The College of Health, Science, and Technology begins the weekend festivities by honoring its graduate students at 2:30 p.m. and undergraduates at 6:30 p.m.

As part of the first groups to tee off at the NCAA-II Central/Midwest Super Regional on Monday, the 12th-ranked Mules Golf team put up a three-over par 291 to sit in second place after the first of three rounds at Cog Hill Country Club.

The journey continues for Jennies softball onto the NCAA Regional Championships. Watching live this morning, the NCAA announced the regional pairings for the Division II NCAA softball championships.  The 44-14 Jennies will square off against No. 7 Missouri Western in the first round of the double elimination bracket. 

The Central Missouri Mules continue play in the MIAA Tournament against second-seeded Emporia State on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas.  The Tournament is a double-elimination bracket. If UCM wins on Thursday, they will play at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, if they lose then they will play again at 6 p.m. on Thursday night in an elimination game.
