The University of Central Missouri has organized a campus-wide relief effort for those affected by the tragic April 25 earthquake in Nepal.  According to Shari Bax, vice provost for student experience and engagement at UCM, cash or check donations will be received from the campus community, as well as the local community, during the Fun Before Finals event planned for Thursday, April 30. A table will be set up from 7 p.m. to midnight in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on campus.

Six students currently enrolled in the University of Central Missouri’s safety sciences programs have been named recipients of scholarships presented by the American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation.  The UCM recipients were among 108 individuals on 45 college and university campuses nationwide who were awarded 92 scholarships valued at more than $273,000.

For the fifth consecutive week, Jennies track and field finds themselves at the top of the USTFCCCA (United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association) poll. UCM topped the ballot with 161.86 points. They also top the Central Region rankings. 
The Mules track team is also ranked for the fourth straight week. They check in at No. 21 in the latest rankings with 57.30 points and remain fourth in the Central Region poll.

The Central Missouri Mules open MIAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed hosting sixth-seeded Nebraska-Kearney.  The best-of-three series gets underway on Thursday night at 6 p.m. Game two will be Friday night at 6 p.m. and Saturday's "if necessary" game three will be at 2 p.m.
