Demonstrating her pride and confidence in the University of Central Missouri Jennies softball team, Deborah Curtis, provost-chief learning officer, has entered a friendly wager with her counterpart at team rival Emporia State University, Emporia, Kan.

With the Jennies preparing to host a double header at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 4, with Emporia State, Curtis and Emporia Provost David Cordle have agreed that the provost of the team that loses the double header will don an opposing team swag of choice, selected by the winning team’s provost. A digital photo of the provost with the other team’s gear will be delivered to the provost representing the winning team.

“Since it is a double header…should there be a tie, the point spread in each game will determine the winner,” Curtis said. “If the point spread is exactly the same, then we will each don a piece of the other team’s swag and deliver the digital photo to each other.”

Curtis added, “This is a wager that I do not intend to lose, and I am confident that Coach Anderson and our softball team will be victorious. It will be great to see Provost David Cordle donning some Mule gear.”

The Jennies vs. Emporia State game will take place at the South Recreation Complex at Highways 13 and DD, south of campus.
