The University of Central Missouri’s Gallery of Art and Design is currently hosting two exhibitions in all three of the gallery’s exhibit areas and in the halls of the Art Center.

The 47th annual Citation Awards Exhibition, a juried exhibition open to art majors and minors in the Department of Art and Design, is on view in the Main and Outer galleries. The exhibition distributes more than 25 awards and scholarships of achievement funded by the Department of Art and Design, the UCM Foundation, and Mid-Missouri Artists group. The exhibition will run through Friday, April 3.

For the second year, students from the University of Central Missouri’s fashion and apparel merchandising program and Delta Zeta sorority will play a key role in ArtBra KC, generating awareness of breast cancer and raising funds to assist breast cancer survivors.  The ArtBra KC event is planned for May 1 at the TWA Museum at the Kansas City Downtown Airport. Central Missouri Jennies softball battled their opponent and the weather on their way to a sweep of Missouri S&T. The Jennies won game one 9-1 in six innings before a 20 minute delayed start of game one. The team's only made it to the bottom of the first before lightning caused a much longer delay, this time of 45 minutes. The two teams came back out though, and Jennies needed to come-from-behind before taking game two, 12-10.

The Jennies Bowling team earned the fifth at-large selection to this year's NCAA Bowling Championships to be held at Tropicana Lanes in St. Louis, Missouri. Competition gets underway on Thursday, April 9 and runs through April 11.

Nicholas Lovejoy (197) earned honorable mention for the Division II All-Academic Wrestling Team. To be eligible for the academic team, the student athlete must be in at least his second full year of college with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, while also holding a spot on the varsity squad.
