It has been quite a week for senior Madison Smith. This past weekend at the NCAA Indoor National Championships, Smith took home two All-American awards, helping the Jennies to their first NCAA Championships in team history. Just four days later, she was already competing in the outdoor season at the Angelo State Spring Break Multi, where she set a new personal-best and automatically qualified for nationals.
Smith finished second (first among collegiate competitors) in the heptathlon with a score of 5262 points, besting her previous PR of 5239 set last year. In the process, she also set a new school record for the outdoor high jump, jumping 1.82m (5' 11.5"). Her score automatically qualifies her for the outdoor national meet, and is the top outdoor time on the young season.

The 15-6 Jennies, winners of 11 of their last 12 softball games look to continue their winning ways at the Missouri Western Regional Crossover..Central Missouri will play five teams from the Northern Sun Conference this weekend in St. Joseph.
