Reza Aslan, internationally acclaimed author and scholar of religions, will be the keynote speaker for the 2015 Politics and Social Justice Week, planned for March 30-April 8 at the University of Central Missouri.  Aslan will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the Laura J. Nahm Auditorium in the W.C. Morris Science Building on the UCM campus.

Members of the community are invited to join the campus community at all events planned for the week. The week will open with candlelight vigil planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, on the Elliott Union Mall, featuring a variety of speakers from the campus and community. In addition to Aslan’s presentation, speakers and panel discussions are scheduled throughout the week on a variety of topics, including Immigration and Policing, Media and Politics, Policing and Race, Affirmative Action and Education, North Korea and Women in Politics.

The first of the Jennies' eight games in Florida went a little long, but it was worth it as they came away with a 5-3 win in 10 innings over Minot State. For the Jens, it's their fifth win in a row as they improve to 9-5 on the sesaon.

The Central Missouri Mules were swept in an MIAA doubleheader for the first time since the 2012 season, as they dropped two games at Southwest Baptist on Thursday afternoon. The Bearcats won the opener 6-5 before taking the nightcap 6-2.

The 20th-ranked Central Missouri Mules open NCAA-II Central Region play tomorrow against Northern State from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Tip-off at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is set for noon.
