Shatto Milk Company of Osborn, Mo., recently was honored as a winner of the 2015 University of Missouri Extension Business Development Program’s Excellence in Missouri Business Award.  Shatto Milk is one of 19 BDP clients honored with the award in Missouri.  The awards highlight outstanding achievements by firms that have worked with the Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Centers, Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, or the Mid-America Trade Adjustment Assistance Center.  Shatto, an alumnus of the University of Central Missouri, worked with Darrell Brammer, director of the Small Business and Technology Development Center on the UCM campus in Warrensburg.  The Shatto farm has been in existence near Osborn for more than 100 years, becoming a dairy operation more than 60 years ago. Owners Barb and Leroy Shatto began to process and bottle hormone-free milk from their own herd in 2003, marketing their products directly to retail outlets.

The fifth-seeded Jennies basketball team overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to eliminate No. 12 seed Lindenwood by a 73-69 final, advancing to the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals this Friday in Kansas City, Missouri.  The win was No. 599 in the career of Jennies head coach Dave Slifer.

For the 15th time in their 19 year tenure, the coaching duo of Kip Janvrin and Kirk Pedersen has been named the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Coaches of the Year.This year, the co-head coaches guided the Jennies to their eighth MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championship and first since 2007. They totaled 159 points in the meet, the most in the coaching pair's history.
