The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri, in collaboration with the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Department of Music, presents Jason Samuels Smith in an original collaborative performance of dance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in Hendricks Hall.  In less than a decade, Jason Samuels Smith has emerged as a multi-talented leader in the art of tap dance.  At a young age appeared on Sesame Street, and at age 15 he was understudy to the leading role in the Tony Award-winning Broadway show “Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk.” 

The No. 2 Jennies Soccer team went on the road to face Northwest Missouri and came away with a  6-1 victory. The win improves the Jennies record to 6-0-0, while Northwest Missouri falls to 1-2-2.  The Jennies are back in action Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m. at home against Emporia State. 

Central Missouri built a 23-6 third quarter lead against No. 3 Northwest Missouri, but a late rally by the Bearcats culminated with the game-winning touchdown with just 34 seconds left. The loss drops UCM to 1-2 on the season.  The Mules look to rebound next Saturday when they travel to Kearney, Nebraska to take on the Lopers of UNK at 3 p.m. at Cope Stadium at Foster Field. 

Jennies volleyball won their third straight game at the MIAA/GAC regional crossover and sixth straight overall, defeating Southern Nazarene three sets to none. The win puts the Jennies at 12-1 to start the season with conference play beginning next week.  UCM is back in action next Sept. 25 as the MIAA portion of the schedule begins. They hit the road to take on Central Oklahoma Friday and Pittsburg State Saturday, Sept. 26.
