A byproduct of many positive factors converging to create a quality and affordable educational experience for students, the University of Central Missouri is experiencing the largest enrollment increase in its 144-year history. UCM this week announced a record 14,395 students enrolled for the fall 2015 semester, a 7.6 percent increase over last fall, and a 23.7 percent increase over a five-year period.  Enrollment data was provided through the fall census conducted Sept. 14 by the university’s Office of Institutional Research. This is the fifth consecutive record-setting year, topping the fall 2014 record of 13,379 students by a 1,016 headcount. Since fall 2011, total headcount has increased by from 11,637 to 14,395 students.  

The Jennies jumped up to No. 2 in the rankings in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll after posting two shutout wins last weekend. The No. 2 ranking is the highest the Jennies have ever been ranked. The only other time the Jennies were ranked No. 2 was in 2010.

The No. 6 ranked Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team heads out on their final regular-season tournament of 2015. UCM travels to Russellville, Ark. for three games with in-region opponents from the Great American Conference. The Jens first game is set for Friday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. against Harding. If the Jens go 3-0 against their GAC foes, it will make UCM's longest winning streak of the season at six.

Central Missouri senior Teddy Jones was named the MIAA Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after his performance in the season-opening Missouri Southern Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. This is the second Athlete of the Week honor of his career.

It’s the annual Black Out Day game for UCM as the Mules Football takes on Northwest Missouri State tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 at Walton Stadium with the first 2500 people through the gates receiving a complimentary rally towel! Tailgating lots open at 10:30 a.m. and gates to the stadium open at noon.
