UCM Update

Programs that contribute to the success of disadvantaged students at the University of Central Missouri have received a significant financial boost thanks to a competitive federal grant. The university will receive $1.5 million over the next five years for the TRIO-Student Support Services (SSS) program, offered through the Department of Academic Enrichment.  Federal support for SSS programs will benefit 210 disadvantaged students at UCM. To be eligible, students must be first-generation with neither parent earning a bachelor’s degree, have financial need, or be challenged by a disability.

Central Missouri golfers past and present were all over the top of the leaderboard at the 2015 Missouri Stroke Play Championship played at St. Joseph Country Club. Former Mule Joe Migdal won the championship with four current or former UCM golfers finishing in the top 10.  Migdal shot rounds of 66, 67, 73 and 68 to finish at 10-under par 274 and post a three-shot win over Travis Mays.

University of Central Missouri Athletics will kick off the 2015-16 school year with the 15th annual Celebrating Central Missouri Athletics auction and dinner presented by Husch Blackwell on Friday evening, August 14. The auction raises funds in support of Central Missouri's 17 intercollegiate athletic programs.  The event is open to the public. The cost, which includes the dinner and the chance to bid at both the silent and live auction, is $75 per person or a table of eight people can be purchased for $600. Attendees will have the opportunity to browse the items and pre-register to avoid lines on auction night at the Auction Preview on Thursday, August 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. You may also register online at www.UCMathletics.com/auction.
