The University of Central Missouri Mules are heading for the NCAA Division II Basketball Championship game on Saturday (March 29), after defeating Metro State Thursday night.

TJ White made a layup with one second left, and Metro State's last second three-pointer was off the mark as 20th-ranked Central Missouri beat No. 1 Metro State 71-69 in the national semifinals and vaulted the Mules to their first appearance in the National Championship, since both the Mules and Jennies won in 1984.

The Mules will play the West Liberty Hilltoppers after they beat South Carolina-Aiken 86-83 on Thursday.

This will be the first time that Head Coach and Smith-Cotton alum, Kim Anderson will compete for the National Championship as a coach.

The UCM vs West Liberty Hilltoppers will play at 2 pm on KCTV 5 or your CBS affiliate.

Here are some of the highlights from yesterday's game from the NCAA webpage.
