Tyson Foods has donated $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, ensuring the sustainability of its La Monte Site specifically.

“Tyson has proven themselves as a leader in the La Monte community in supporting great futures for all children,” said Club Executive Director Jessica Pyle. “We are so thankful for Tyson’s support and for their partnership going forward. They have become a key partner and supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri.”

The donation, one of the largest the Club has received in its history, will help guarantee the La Monte Site’s doors continue to remain open for all children who want to attend. Currently the Club relies heavily on federal and state grants to sustain its operations but with the uncertainty of whether funding will be renewed Club staff have looked to outside sources to help fund operations.

“We are very proud to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri,” said Alan Johnston, Tyson Complex Manager. “The efforts put forth by the organization has a huge positive impact on many of our team member’s families – not to mention west central Missouri as a whole.  We’re grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community and are excited to know that the La Monte Club will continue to flourish.”

“We cannot thank Tyson enough for their generous donation,” said Director of Development Melissa Boeschen. “We look forward to working with Alan and everyone at Tyson to explore this new partnership.”

The La Monte Site serves an average of 60 children daily, offering them a safe, stable place to go after school. For more information go to the Club’s website, bgckids.com or call 660-826-8331.
