Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks are one of country music greatest love stories. The couple work and play together well, and they have for almost 10 years! Now, the country singer is gushing over how great Garth is behind the scenes.

Yearwood graces the cover of People Country , and inside dishes the details of her relationship with Brooks. Adorably, she tells the magazine he's her "biggest cheerleader."

"He's the guy who says, 'There's nothing you can't do.' One of the things we respect about each other is that we're both independent," Yearwood says. "He makes more money than I do, but I'm an independent girl and always have been. I want to pull my weight in life and in the relationship."

Yearwood and Brooks are currently touring together on the country icon's world tour and are also working on a duets album. They're able to collaborate both personally and professionally without too much of a fight, likely because they follow one important rule.

"Both of us are very opinionated. We try not to give each other advice unless we're asked," the wife says.

That means when it comes to her own personal endeavors, Yearwood doesn't always want her husband's opinion. "I didn't go to Garth with the cookware or the furniture and say, 'What do you think I should do?'"

It's probably best that she doesn't ask for his advice when it pertains to home decor. He's had less than perfect taste over the years and Yearwood dishes on one particular decorating problem.

"When I first moved to Oklahoma, he had outfitted this little cowboy bunk house that he was living in before we built our house, about a 1,200-sq.-ft. old house he and [his daughters] were living in," she explains. "He had decorated it, and his favorite color is blue, and everything in the house was blue. I mean everything: the carpet, furniture, the drapes, the towels, the dishes, the silverware handles, the glasses ... I love blue, but it was a lot of blue. It's funny in this line that blue has become the color that pops out!"
