These Minor League Baseball Mascots are Bizarre
Hot dogs, Cracker Jacks, the national anthem, great seats and cheaper prices. That's what you'll find at most minor league baseball games. You'll also find some crazy mascots.
If you've been to a minor league baseball stadium you've most likely seen a mascot that was a little different than most that you see on TV.
The best part of some of these mascots are the stories behind them. For example, the Batavia Muckdogs. What the heck is a Muck Dog? It's actually an urban legend and it deals with the area around Batavia that's famous for onions. In fact Batavia, N.Y. is know as the Onion Capital of the World, thanks to its mucklands: a dark, fertile soil that looks an awful lot like mud.
Some mascots didn't make the final cut on the list of the top ones in the country but do deserve to be mentioned. Those names include the Hickory Crawdads, Akron RubberDucks, and El Paso Chihuahuas.
