The Top Comfort Foods in Missouri

What would you say is the state's top comfort food?

Whether it's a local favorite or a destination for your favorite comfort food, the state of Missouri has a great list to choose from. There’s pizza, cheeseburgers, BBQ and fried chicken. What about dessert/sweets?

To begin the list you probably have to start off with the number one comfort food in the state-Barbecue. Now, the question...is your favorite BBQ local or do you have to travel across the state to get your fix of ribs, smoked sausage, smoked turkey and burnt ends?

Locally, we're spoiled in the Sedalia area as we have a great selection of BBQ. What's great is if you are traveling across the state, you have a lot of different little BBQ spots on the map that will provide some great eats. From KC to St. Louis, the numbers are plenty.

If it's pizza, look again in Sedalia. Outside of the State Fair City, also some great spots in St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia and Springfield.

Now when it comes to fried chicken, as far as a state location, Stroud's in Kansas CIty has to be a favorite destination.

How about a good ol' cheeseburger and fries. I know a lot of locations that come to mind. Everyone has their favorite depending on different tastes.

Finally..dessert/sweets? Is it pie, ice cream, (or the two together) frozen yogurt, donuts, cake...the list goes on and on. I'm throwing my hands up in the air on this one. I'm getting full just writing this!

Wherever it may be in the state, Missouri is full (no pun intended) of great comfort food choices.
