The Mavericks kicked off their 2016 Grammy Awards experience by performing "All Night Long" at the pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony.

The group, composed of Raul Malo, Paul Deakin, Eddie Perez and Jerry Dale McFadden, took to the stage to perform the tune, which is nominated for Best American Roots Song, in their signature styles. The track shows off what the Mavericks do best: fuse pop, Latin and country music into a groovy, dance-able sound that is all their own.

In addition to their Best American Roots Song nod, the Mavericks are also nominated for Best Americana Album, for their most recent record, Mono.

“We are incredibly grateful that our music is able to do exactly what we intended … free people from themselves and their struggles,” Malo said in a press release when their nominations were announced. “On the road, our fans dance, cry, sing, laugh and get into a vibe that transcends outside obstacles like race, language and social status. Thank you to the Recording Academy for noticing and again believing in the Mavericks.”

Adds Perez, “This band has always defied the odds and expectations … a country band from Miami with a Cuban singer? But it works, because people feel the passion.”

The Mavericks are no strangers to the Grammy Awards; they won Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocal in 1995.
