Kids, Thanksgiving is a time when we all sit down together and think about all the good fortune we've had in our lives.  For some of us, that good fortune is a little harder to find.  So, I thought we'd take a second to maybe tell you about some of the Thanksgiving meals that you can find here in town.

If you're in need of a meal or you know someone who is, please take advantage of this.

The St. Patrick Church will be having their annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner this year. Meals will be delivered on Thanksgiving Day to shut-ins, elderly, homebound and those in need of a meal. For delivery of meals call 826-2062 or 596-4094.  Leave your name, address, phone number and the number of meals you’ll need on the message.  A meal will be served following deliveries at 11:30 a.m. at 415 East Fourth Street.

Also, the Sedalia Elks Lodge #125 will be having their 28th Annual Thanksgiving Benefit. It’ll be held on Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Elks Multipurpose Building.  They open at noon with games, food and fun at 2:00 p.m.  The auction will begin at 6:00 p.m.  The money raised goes to fill 125 baskets for less fortunate families and other Elks Charities.  The event is open to the public.

I think a lot of times, people assume that on the actual day of Thanksgiving, there's nothing that can be done to help or get help.  But don't assume!  Enjoy a meal and help someone else enjoy one, too.

Turkily yours,
Behka
