Thanks to everybody, from the landowners who allow us to hunt on their land to everyone who attended out Whitetails Unlimited Banquet and those who sponsor our events.  Our youth weekend was a great success, with five out of the six kids getting their first turkeys and three out of the four Wounded Warriors getting their birds last weekend.

The guys had a great hunt.  They took two big birds, both over 26 lbs., and one got his first turkey!  He said it was awesome.  I was lucky enough to get Blake his turkey.  He is completely blind, and we were able to do it with the support for our program.  We have the equipment to deer hunt, turkey hunt and a crossbow that are set up for the blind.  With the shooting house having a wheelchair ramp, we have been blessed to be able to take anyone out there, so thank you for giving MoKids Outdoors the opportunity to serve these sportsman!

We also took the Wounded Warriors out to the Mid-Mo Outlaws game.  The Outlaws gave the Warriors and their guides VIP tickets, and they loved it.  After the game, they were given a game ball signed by all of the players, and photos with the Bootleggers of course.

Alright, the crappie are starting to brighten and folks are catching them in 5' of water, some reports saying that it's close.  I can't wait for next week, it should be awesome.  Also, there are reports or red and grey morels being found, so you know what's next: warm rain and sun.  Crappie, morels, how can it get any better? I'll tell you, after waking up to snow on Wednesday, it couldn't get any worse!

Two weekends of turkey season left.  I feel like these should be the two best weekends coming up.  I have to say happy birthday to my lovely wife.  She turned 32 again and looks as beautiful as she did when we got married.  I love you.

Also, get ready for MoKids Outdoor's Fishin' For a Cure at Liberty Park on May 11.  Fishin', fun and food, all to raise money for a Relay for Life team, so come on out.  We'll also have a special drawing for a Mother's Day gift, so bring your moms and get them entered to win.

Until next week, hunt hard and thank God for those things closest to our hearts.
