Taylor Swift is full of surprises lately! During a trip to BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, the superstar sat down at the piano to play what she says is her favorite of the year: Vance Joy's 'Riptide.'

Swift crossed the pond to perform live on BBC Radio 1 on Thursday (Oct. 9), and judging by the endless tweets, her British fans were very excited. One fan complimented her "swag," while another called it a "lad anthem," which made the singer giggle. While on the show, Swift was a Twitter trend at No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 2 globally.

"This is just one of my favorite songs that has come out all year," the superstar hinted before she played. "For me, it just, it was a no brainer and I wanted to change up the arrangement a little bit and kind of hear maybe what it would sound like if a girl sang it."

Technically released in 2013, Swift's cover of Vance Joy's 'Riptide' was flawless. She made magic with a combination of fragile vocals, tender lyrics and piano, which has many (okay, us included) excited to see what sort of tricks she's got up her sleeve on '1989.' The new pop album hits shelves on Oct. 27.
