At this point in her career, Taylor Swift has been nominated for so many awards that we should stop being surprised at the number of nods she racks up for each awards show. Naturally, the 2012 European MTV Awards are no different. Swift is up for a whopping five trophies.

"Just found out about the 5 MTV Europe Awards nominations!! IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING?? I seriously just paced around the room in disbelief," the 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' singer tweeted Monday, adding later, "I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I love you guys. I might hyperventilate. I'm so excited."

Swift is usually leading the pack in nominations, but this time she's trailing Rihanna by one. The country star will go up against the popular pop singer in the Best Pop, Best Female, and Best Look categories.

And it sounds like competition is going to be fierce in all of the categories that she's in. The 'Story of Us' hitmaker will face off against Justin Bieber, No Doubt and Katy Perry in the race for the Best Pop Award. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj, Perry and P!nk will compete for the Best Female prize.

Swift is up against Green Day, Jay-Z, Kanya West, Lady Gaga and Muse for the Best Live Award. But the fiercest competition will take place between the 18 artists nominated for the Best World Stage Award. In that fight, Swift is up against the Biebs, her old flame Joe Jonas and Maroon 5, among others.

Tune in to the 2012 MTV European Awards on Nov. 11 to see how many awards the country cutie will have to haul home from across the pond. Fans can vote for their favorite artists here.
