The City of Sedalia makes every effort to keep citizens safe and informed during inclement weather. During the winter months, snow, ice and freezing rain can make travel dangerous. Even short journeys on neighborhood streets can cause problems. In case of inclement weather, drivers are encouraged to take appropriate precautions by driving only as needed, reducing driving speed and removing cars that may be parked on city streets.

The Sedalia Fire Department held a ground breaking ceremony at 2606 West 16th this afternoon (Dec. 18). The site marks the location of the new department headquarters and training facility to be built over the next year.
The Sedalia #200 School Board met at Smith Cotton High School Monday night (Dec. 17). While there were other items on the agenda, the one that brought more than 40 parents to the meeting was the “Security and Safety Update.”

The Sedalia Fire Department responded to a fire at 208 Ohio St. in downtown Sedalia early this morning (Dec. 14). As of 8:00 a.m. this morning, fire crews were still working to put out the blaze.
