Every day is a holiday! As you may or may not know, every day at around 6:25 a.m., I announce the National Holidays of the Day. Well there's a good one coming up this Thursday (Sept. 26): National Pancake Day.

I found an interesting list the other day of "Embarrassing Moments for Moms." Since I am obviously not a mother, I decided to talk to a few local moms to hear what they had to say about the subject.

A few weeks ago, Huntin' Harry took me out to shoot his bow a little so he could warm up for a tournament. Well I shot about two arrows and was hooked immediately. I decided I wanted to get in to this archery thing. Luckily, Harry knew just the place to go: Rusty Toad Archery in Smithton.

Today (Sept. 19) is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. If you listened to me on Roll Out of Bed with Rob this morning, you heard me talk like a pirate for the entire morning. I went all out with a gravelly old fashioned voice, a la Barbosa from Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a lot of fun. If you too would like to talk like a pirate, here are some useful tips:

Singer/songwriter Rickie Lee Tanner is playing at the Mid-Missouri Bike Rally on Saturday evening. He stopped by the KIX studio to chat with us and play some live music on Roll Out of Bed With Rob.

As you may or may not know, I'm from the Detroit area. I've never milked a cow in my life. Well, that changed last weekend at the Missouri State Fair, as the good people at the Dairy Barn helped get me "rural-ized." Man, was it a funny experience!

Alright guys, after a week of voting we have our finalists! It's up to you guys to pick the name of my new morning show on KIX 105. We took the top vote-getters of the three options I gave you, and we're now pitting it against my two favorite write-in votes.

Alright guys, we're just getting warmed up this week, but once we really get rolling in the mornings, we need a cool name for the morning show! Since a radio station is nothing without it's listeners, I want you all to be involved in the decision.

So if you're reading this, chances are that you're wondering "Who the heck is this guy and where did he come from?!?!" Well, I'm Rob Edwards, the new guy! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
