It’s not exactly surprising news, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome: Hulu has officially renewed Castle Rock for a second season. The series, from executive producer J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot, will continue to expand this particular little corner of Stephen King’s universe in Season 2, with new characters and a new story set in and around the fictional, eponymous Maine town.

In just a couple of weeks, Hulu is taking Stephen King fans back to Castle Rock — the fictional Maine town where many of the author’s horror classics are set — for a new series from producer J.J. Abrams. The latest trailer for Castle Rock is, as you might suspect, filled with Easter eggs for various stories in the King universe.

One Stephen King universe invariably leads to another, and Hulu is finally ready to show us how. Check out the creepy first look at J.J. Abrams anthology series Castle Rock, as the mysterious goings-on of a small town reveal some familiar King sights.

And in other, totally unsurprising Star Wars: Episode IX news… Following this morning’s announcement that J.J. Abrams is returning to direct (and co-write) the trilogy finale comes word that the release date has been pushed back seven months from May 24, 2019 to December 20. Meanwhile, despite a change in directors and Ron Howard’s ongoing reshoots, the Han Solo spinoff weirdly remains the one Star Wars property that won’t be released in December.

From Michael Rooker to Ed Harris and now Scott Glenn, there’s officially a new sheriff in town. Hulu Stephen King-J.J. Abrams anthology series Castle Rock has added Defenders star Glenn to its cast in the familiar role of Sheriff Alan Pangborn.

Carrie lives! Well, sort of. Stephen King alum Sissy Spacek is now the latest to join Hulu’s King-Abrams anthology series Castle Rock, whose 10-episode production begins later this year.

ABC’s LOST may not have answered every mystery set up over the course of five seasons, but did you know that J.J. Abrams first pitched the island drama to ABC as having no serialized mystery whatsoever? Or that the costly pilot got ABC’s then-president fired for his trouble? Harrison Ford might be a superhero. This, according to Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, who was on set for Ford’s unfortunate accident last year, when a hydraulic door broke his leg. (As Abrams’ describes it in the clip above, his ankle was at a, gulp, 90-degree angle to the rest of his body. Ew.) Thankfully, Ford was okay. Then he later got into a plane crash and was mostly okay after that too. Because, again, Harrison Ford is a superhero.
