The CW may have TV superheroes on lock, but FOX may give them a run for their money later this year. The full fall 2017 schedule has been announced, featuring X-Men drama The Gifted, Gotham Season 4, Lucifer and all your new and returning favorites.

The DC universes of TV are still going strong after Supergirl, Flash and Arrow have said goodbye for summer, leaving FOX’s Gotham to bring it home with a two-hour finale next week. Along with it, our first trailer for Season 3’s end brings a look at Alexander Siddig in the infamous role of Ra’s al Ghul, and some familiar looks for the existing characters.

The networks are awash in live musicals, some more successful than others, and FOX has added yet another to its ranks. Hold on to your knit caps and break out the wine and beer, as Rent is getting the live musical treatment in the near future.

While A Christmas Story is about as bold a holiday choice these years as Die Hard  —  did you know it takes place during Christmas???!  —  I’ll always carry a candle for Bob Clark’s story of a family growing up in 1940s America. My own extended family would gather for the holidays each year and practically have A Christmas Story on a loop; it was a good day, then, when TBS saved us the trouble of rewinding the VHS tapes and started playing the film 24/7 on our behalf. Cliche or not, A Christmas Story still sets the stage for the holidays in my household.

Well, there was no way The Last Man on Earth would end on a cliffhanger, or that Gotham would wrap up Batman’s beginning before Batman begins. As such, FOX confirms that both series will return for fourth seasons this fall.

Well, FOX’s Sleepy Hollow certainly made a deal with the devil to reinvent Season 4 without star Nicole Beharie, but all demonic bargains backfire eventually. So it is, that FOX confirms Sleepy Hollow will not return for Season 5, despite a revamped cast and premise.

Just when you thought American Idol had floated back out to sea, ABC may be throwing a lifeline. The Dancing With the Stars network has reportedly made a bid for the 2018 revival where FOX and NBC couldn’t, but Ryan Seacrest might finally be too busy to participate.

Well, they couldn’t wait eight years to reopen The X-Files, just to leave off on that insane cliffhanger, right? FOX finally got their act together, preparing a proper revival for Mulder and Scully with an expanded-order eleventh (and final?) season.

If you thought the cord-cutters’ market was aggressive before, just wait until you get a load of YouTube TV. The online video staple announced the full scope of its live TV bundle, complete with unlimited cloud DVR and a moderate monthly subscription fee.

It hasn’t been terribly long since FOX said goodbye to American Idol, what with the whole “reality competition” craze having appreciably cooled since the early 2000s regardless. Still, leave it to NBC to potentially drag Ryan Seacrest back to the stage for a revival season, throwing The Voice into question in the process.
