The Sedalia Fire Department and Police Department responded to a reported house fire at a vacant home at the intersection of Wilkerson and Harrison last night (Jan. 16) at 8:18 p.m.

Chrisman (WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Warrensburg Fire Department (WFD) responded to a fire call at the University of Central Missouri on Sunday (Sept. 1) between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the South Todd dining hall. No injuries were incurred, but students were evacuated due to large amounts of smoke. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a minor electrical shortage.

The Sedalia Fire Department believes that a fire in the old Sprint Building located at 1716 West Broadway was started intentionally.

The Missouri Rural Major Case Squad convened this morning (July 24) in Sedalia to assist the Pettis County Sheriff in the death investigation of two rural Green Ridge residents earlier this week. Thirty investigators from area agencies began receiving lead assignments and will be working the case over the next several days.

Two people found inside a burning home in far western Pettis County on Monday have been positively identified, and investigators are treating their deaths as homicides.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after two bodies were found in a house fire Monday afternoon (July 23) in far west central Pettis County.

A bus that was part of Toby Keith's touring convoy caught on fire on a highway near Indianapolis, Ind. in the early hours of the morning on Monday (July 1).

A fire broke out at the AmVets Building Post 143 in Knob Noster on Sunday afternoon (April 21). The fire was discovered by a member of the Freedom of the Road Riders as they were preparing for a meeting.
