While Tumblr's 'NiceGuysofOKCupid' is now sadly defunct, the online dating site OKCupid has gotten even creepier with the release of their new blind date app. This can't possibly end well.

Every now and then, I get an email that is worth sharing.  Everyone knows I don't have much of a sense of fashion.  I wear jeans and polo shirts for the most part and I keep the colors pretty basic.  The email I received this morning delves into the fashion aspect of the dating world.  Here it is:

Kids, I'm a lady that is on the "dating scene" if you will.  I've been out with a few dudes here and there, and I can say that there are good times and bad times.  And then there are just weird times.

A lot has changed in the world of dating over the years.  The ways people meet has expanded to include online.  Email, texting and IM/DM has decreased the amount of time it takes to get to know someone.  Conversations can last all day!  But there's one thing that I thought would never change, until now.

It is "National Unmarried and Single Americans Week," or "National U.S.A. Week" for short.  According to the last census, 102 million U.S. adults are single.  That's 44% of them.  Meaning other single people ARE out there.  You're not alone.

We've talked about pickup lines before.  Which ones work, which don't, and which are the worst.  Women that have participated in our conversation had an almost unanimous reaction to pickup lines: they don't like them.  Evidently, that isn't as universally true as we thought.

It is summertime.  Single people everywhere are out to meet people to enjoy the warm weather with.  It can be difficult to break the ice though.  Match.com did a survey to find the worst pick-up lines of all time.
