In 1962, Loretta Lynn was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, just two years after her debut on the famous Nashville stage. On Tuesday night (Sept. 25), the iconic country singer celebrated the 50th anniversary of her induction with a commemorative show.

Charo is a true entertainer.  She sings, dances and makes the audience laugh.  She's been on the Tonight Show, The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.  On Friday, September 28, 2012 she'll be performing at the University of Central Missouri as part of their Performing Arts Series.  Showtime is set for 7:30 p.m. at Hendricks Hall.  Charo took time out to shoot the breeze with me.  Here's the interview. There was a lot to do in Sedalia over the weekend.  The Art Festival downtown, Kids Fishing with a Vet/Hunting & Fishing Harry and the H.O.G. rally had events too.  At the end of the Bike Parade, the intersection of 5th and Ohio was roped off and became a beer garden. That's when Tyler Farr took the stage.

Be careful in concert parking lots, people! On Thursday (Sept. 6), two concertgoers were run over by an SUV in the parking lot of the PNC Banks Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. after taking in the Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan gig at the venue.

Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw have been breaking attendance records at stadiums all over the U.S. this summer. Chesney’s 22-city/23-stadium Brothers of the Sun Tour wrapped this weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., selling a record-breaking 111,209 tickets over two shows. Nashville, Tenn. has long been known as a major hub in the music industry, but Music City’s status will certainly rise with the announcement that this year’s ‘Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night’ will be held in the home of country music. The stage will be aired on CBS on Dec. 5. from Bridgestone Arena, located in the heart of downtown Nashville.

Country legend Willie Nelson was forced to cancel his planned performance at a fundraiser in Castle Pines Village in Colorado on Saturday, August 18. The tireless singer and pot proponent, 79, reportedly pulled out of his appearance due to health problems.
