Country music stars and fans are mourning the death of 13-year-old Lane Goodwin, whose battle with cancer gained national attention when a Facebook campaign to show support for him went viral.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month,  Too many people have been effected by this horrible disease.  Becky Thomas is a breast cancer survivor, one of the original "blues sisters" and a great friend.  Here are her words and insights on Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

The members of Sugarland got the chance to make a young girl’s life brighter at a recent tour stop in Minnesota. Singer Jennifer Nettles and singer-songwriter Kristian Bush were performing at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel on Aug. 8 when they were joined onstage by a very special guest — a 4-year-old cancer patient named Avery.

Blake Shelton may be a consummate joker, but he has a heart of gold beneath all that laughter. He is also a man of his word, as he helped make a dream come true for Harlie Bryant, a 6-year-old stricken with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The 2012 Pettis County Relay For Life is set to take place this Friday on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. In this event, teams are formed and they raise funds through pledges and other fund raising events leading up to the relay.  On Saturday night starting at 6, walkers will take turns going around the track for 12 hours.
