March 4, 2013 I had the privilege to call the Kaysinger Conference Tournament, where I saw many of these young athletes shine. The Kaysinger Conference is always highly competitive and packed with talent, and this year was no different! Congratulations to the young men and women who made the All Conference team.
February 20, 2013 Tomorrow (Feb. 21) the Cole Camp Bluebirds will continue the quest to becoming district champions. Cole Camp is the number one seed in the class 2 district 8 tournament and defeated Smithton in the first round on Tuesday (Feb. 19) 76-58.

February 19, 2013 High School basketball is gearing up for district and sectional play. This week, KIX 105 will be following the Cole Camp Bluebirds Boys Basketball Team. Cole Camp is 20-3 on the season and will take on the Smithton Tigers at 4 p.m. today.

January 30, 2013 There is always a lot of talk whenever rivals take on each other. This weekend you can watch a lot of rivalry games and stay in the same building. The Kaysinger Conference Basketball Tournament is ready to tip off this weekend at State Fair Community College at the Fred E. Davis Center. Teams from Cole Camp, Green Ridge, Lamonte, Lincoln, Northwest (Hughesville), Sacred Heart (Sedalia), Smithton, Stover, Tipton and Windsor will battle it out for the Kaysinger Conference Championship for both the boys and girls brackets starting this Saturday.
January 28, 2013 I took the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. I grew up watching Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neil and Goose on TV. The spirit of the team lives on with new players and the show was fantastic. The trick plays were timed perfectly and they do amazing things with a basketball. The announcer added excitement to the "championship game" by pointing out how close it was. Of course, the Globetrotters were victorious. Here's a few photos from the event.
January 23, 2013 I’ve had the pleasure of working with many civic clubs in Sedalia, whether it be Pettis County Rotary, Sedalia Rotary, Sunrise Optimists, Noonday Optimists, Lions Club, Sedalia ELKS, Sedalia Kiwanis, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, VFW, 40 & 8, American Legion and many others.
While we get the chance to cover their activities, it is not often they all have an appreciation day. This Saturday (Jan. 26), State Fair Community College will have Civic Club Night, where members of the various civic clubs get in free for the basketball games when the State Fair Community College Roadrunners have a double-header. Civic club members may pick up free admission passes at their club meetings.
