Walking Dead comic fans have a general sense of what’s coming in Season 8, but Fear remains as unpredictable as ever in the back half of Season 3. See for yourself in a new featurette for the September return, as Broke Jaw Ranch becomes a powder keg under a tense alliance.

The stunt community and loved ones of Walking Dead performer John Bernecker endured a tragic loss over the weekend, as an on-set accident hospitalized the stuntman and led to his death. The series naturally shut down production on the eighth season, but has since (temporarily) resumed.

The Walking Dead isn’t generally known for practical stunts, but with Season 8 gearing up for “All Out War,” it stands to reason physical action would increase. As such, the unfortunate hospitalization of stuntman John Bernecker has necessitated Season 8 production take a temporary hiatus.

Seeing as we must have The Walking Dead all year-round, AMC isn’t even waiting for Comic-Con’s Season 8 Trailer to drop the first look. See Daryl and Carol back to their old selves in a first photo, while bosses tease that Season 8 will feature more crossover than ever.

Seven years in, The Walking Dead was bound to conflict with fan-favorites taking other work. AMC’s horror smash usually takes precedence, but according to recent reports, at least three Walking Dead favorites will have reduced roles in Season 8.

We’re now eight seasons into The Walking Dead, and three into companion series Fear The Walking Dead, so there’s no pretending the world is fighting back. An extended new featurette for the latter’s June premiere cements as much, also revealing exactly what became of Madison, Travis, Nick, Strand and Alicia since Season 2.

It’s tough to say whether The Walking Dead is set in its ways, or might surprise us in Season 8’s “All Out War.” Either way, at least one notable tweak is in order, as showrunner Scott Gimple says Season 8 will address a long-running fan complaint over the series’ pacing.

The Walking Dead may have come to a close, but Fear will rise anew this June. Season 3 of Fear The Walking Dead has officially set a double-premiere for Season 3, also releasing its first footage and new photos of the companion series’ return.
