As the school year comes to a close, we'd like to salute the hard-working students of our area. Whether you're in high school, college, even middle or elementary school, we want to recognize the accomplishments of these fine young people in our community.
The 2013 MTV Movie Awards winners, though by no means as hyped as, say, the 2013 Oscars, are a fun affair nonetheless. Most of the awards, with exceptions to the "specialty" categories, are voted on by the fans, which means many of the titles that got snubbed during awards season now have another chance for the recognition many believe they deserve.
The big stars are out for awards season. New songs on the radio for April 2013 made their debut at the ACM Awards on April 7. Hunter Hayes and Luke Bryan were two singers to introduce new music, while Blake Shelton played his new one for the first time at the Las Vegas awards show.
There were a whole lot of viewers who were crying along with Miranda Lambert when she won Female Vocalist of the Year and grooving to the beat of Lady Antebellum's performance of 'Downtown' during the 2013 ACM Awards. In fact, the 48th annual show had over 15 million viewers (15.38 million, to be exact), posting the largest audience since 1998.
Stevie Wonder closed out the ACM Awards with his classic soul hit 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours,' turning the end of the 2013 red carpet show into a celebratory country party.
