I attended my daughter's first ballet with the Studio A Dance Conservatory last weekend at the in the Heckart Performing Arts Center at Smith-Cotton High School. The Studio A Dance Conservatory is led by Anna Crumley. This was the third year for this event, so the theme was “Third Time's a Charm.”  Over 120 kids had been practicing ballet, tap, hip hop, point, freelance and more since August for this one moment to shine.

It was the first time I had ever been to a ballet show other than seeing Miss Missouri Scholarship programs. While I was excited to see my daughter Lillibeth perform, I really wanted to see how the young ladies and girls did.  Lillibeth would tell me about the moves she was learning, but I have to admit, I had no clue as to what she was talking about. She'd show me some moves and then I would understand.

I was impressed with the kids as a whole, and I from what I heard, many said that it was the best performance to date. Overall, I could tell with my daughter that her balance, coordination and movements all improved in the last few months, and she is already ready for next year. I'm sure that was the case for all the girls on stage.

Here are some of the photos of the rehearsals as shared by my father-in-law, Paul Reynolds.
