In an effort to prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, the Bothwell Regional Health Center Foundation is sponsoring the Lub Dub Run, which is presented by the Missouri Heart Center.

The Lub Dub Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. The event, named after the sound of a healthy heartbeat, benefits the Camye Callis Gaspard Memorial Heart Fund, which BRHC says helps finance improvements in cardiovascular treatment at BRHC in Pettis and Benton counties.

“The Lub Dub Run is an exceptional event for both competitive runners and beginners,” said Rick Schlesselman, Lub Dub Run race director and Bothwell Foundation board member.  “This event is a community event, and we encourage everyone to come out and walk, run, volunteer or just cheer on the participants.”

Bothwell says the Lub Dub Run includes 10K and 5K runs, a 5K walk, and a kids run. All events will begin and end at the Bothwell Regional Health Center’s south parking lot located on E. 15th Street. The race begins at 8:00 a.m.
